In a commentary (Maryland Gazette, Aug. 20) Bob Burdon, the president and chief executive officer of the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber, continued his negative remarks on the governance of Anne Arundel County.

As president and CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, I want to affirm the very strong and direct role County Executive John R. Leopold plays in policy and operations that builds on the fundamentals which allow our local economy to continue to prosper.
