Blahut looks to bring new dawn to Knights

Walt Blahut enjoyed tremendous success as the boys lacrosse coach at Archbishop Spalding and Northeast High. Now Blahut will attempt to turn around the struggling program at North County High.

North County athletic director Mike Baker announced Thursday that Blahut has been hired as the school's varsity boys' lacrosse coach. He replaces Dennis Sullivan, who stepped down after two seasons.

Blahut led Archbishop Spalding to three MIAA B Conference championships during his five-year tenure (1999-2003). He agreed at the last minute to serve as head coach at Northeast after previous head coach Larry Kramer resigned just prior to...
