| | Linthicum: Church plans third rebuilding trip to aid Katrina victims

Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church is again organizing a group of volunteers to travel to Mississippi this fall to help rebuild homes lost in Hurricane Katrina, which made landfall on the Gulf Coast three years ago yesterday. A team representing about seven or eight churches in the area will work in Waveland, Miss., the week of Oct. 19 to 25, said Bob Abel, a member of Linthicum Heights UMC and one of the trip leaders. It will be the third trip by the LHUMC and Friends mission team, said Mr. Abel. This year they will be working in an area severely hit by the storm surge where about 70 percent of the homes were destroyed... This story has expired!
