What started as a high school job for Eric Maynard blossomed into a multimillion dollar-a-year business.

Hanover-based Event Tech, which was officially run out of his parents' garage for seven years until 1993, is now a one-stop shop for event production that includes staging, lighting, audio and video production.

"I'd like to think we're The Home Depot of events production," saud Mr. Maynard, company president.

Event Tech's client list includes businesses from Citibank to Merriweather Post Pavilion to the White House.
